The daring geometric stepped facade, with a mix of open balconies, planting and swathes of glass is akin to a cluster of small homes, each with their own unique shape and character.

With an eye on the future, electric car charging stations, bike spaces for each and every apartment along with a food waste composting system have been incorporated. Further to this, rooftop solar panels help reduce energy use across common areas

Interiors at Due North — like Preston itself — have their own unique persona. They are grounded in the materials of the working-class industrial history of the suburb, but are combined with refined modern elements that create a distinctive beauty.

Earthy, natural tones and warm colours and materials form the foundation — invoking a sense of comfort, and a calming atmosphere — while more solid, masculine detailing provides a confident counterpoint. 

The countertops across the kitchens, bathrooms and laundry spaces are a light porcelain — a durable material designed to stand the test of time — with a fine hessian-grid appearance. Island benches, where applicable, feature a terrazzo-like chunky countertop, echoing the building’s exterior form and textures. 

Accenting the kitchen and living areas will be a feature metal linear pendant, offering a striking focal point. Timber flooring in walnut rounds out the natural richness of the living spaces.

In the bathrooms, terrazzo floor tiles continue part-way up the walls to create a luxurious skirting-board effect. Honest and raw materials are cleverly repurposed and accented by thoughtful, imaginative details

Construction is expected to begin in early 2020, developed by Kincaid.
