Brisbane Bronco's captain Darius Boyd has bought his new property project with wife Kayla.

He's spent $1,205,000 on an original 1930s cottage on 605 sqm in the affluent Paddington, a stones throw from Suncorp.

Boyd snapped up the property just a week into its marketing.

The two level property, which had been used for dual living, has five bedrooms in total, a large upstairs deck and a rear backyard.

Place Paddington selling agent Andrew Degn said the home oozed with potential.

Boyd, whose Broncos sit outside of the top eight, is still waiting for a buyer for the Graya Constructions built home in Hendra which was most recently marketed at $1.99 million.

Boyd's Tungan, Gold Coast investment townhouse has quickly gone under offer after having $475,000 hopes. He paid $427,000 in 2009.
