Brisbane Bronco and former Queensland Origin star Darius Boyd has listed his Hendra home.

The luxury new build, which was completed this time last year, was a two year project for Boyd and his wife Kayla, who are asking for buyers in the early $2 million bracket.

It was 2016 when Boyd quietly paid $810,000 for an original 1950s weatherboard home with lightweight cladding and a colorbond corrugated iron roof.

He called on Base Architecture and the brothers behind Graya Construction to create a jet black, four bedroom, two bathroom home on 650 sqm.

It features a dedicated media room with projector. The master suite sits in its own wing, across a bridge void above the living spaces.

A covered outdoor entertaining area meets the swimming pool and outdoor shower.

McGrath New Farm agents Drew Davies and Carter Lagana are marketing the home.

Boyd, who grew up on the Gold Coast, has been at the Broncos for the last three years. He started his career there, before stints at the Dragons and the Knights.

Boyd recently spent $500,000 on a one bedroom apartment on Broadbeach on the Gold Coast.
