Hotelier Ben May and wife Lucy have sold their Wunulla Road, Point Piper harbour front for more than $16 million.

It has been reported it's been bought by a billionaire.

The 1958 home which was built by Hugh Buhrich sits on 795sq m.

It was bought around two years ago for about $12 million.

There are lime-washed oak floors, multiple spacious living areas and terraces, a designer gas kitchen with Norwegian Rossa marble benches and European appliances, along with five bedrooms.

Ben and Lucy had previously bought the Windsor Castle Hotel conversion for $11.85 million, before opting for the Point Piper home to be closer to better schools.

They sold just six months after their purchase for the same price to Goldman Sachs executive director David Nolan and wife Anita.
