It has been their home at Yeronga for 19 years ago.
It sold under the hammer for $3,055,000, with only a $5,000 bid separating the two parties.  There were two registered bidders.
From 52 results of the 82 scheduled Brisbane auctions, CoreLogic calculated a 40 percent weekend success rate.

A mid-century home on Yeronga's exclusive Brisbane Corso has sold at auction for $2,625,000.
The home at <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-qld-yeronga-134163746" target="_blank">352 Brisbane Corso</a> was constructed by grayHAUS, with suspended concrete floors and floor-to-ceiling glazing creating clean lines and unobstructed views.
Owner builder Ben Morland, who co-owns grayHAUS, built the contemporary five bedroom, four bathroom entertainer.
He offset raw materials by warm timber features.

Designer GrayHAUS Yeronga home sells at auction

A quaint historic fire station designed by renowned Queensland architects at Yeronga in Brisbane’s south-west is being offered for sale.
Ray White Industrial Milton has the landmark 1930s-built property.
The fire station at <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-qld-yeronga-124081858" target="_blank">785 Ipswich Road</a> is on the market for the first time in more than 15 years. It last traded for $230,000 in 2001.
Ray White Industrial Milton’s Aron Burtenshaw says the astute buyer will secure a piece of Brisbane’s rich cultural history.
“Currently zoned emergency services, the 280 sqm two-level building on a 1,062 sqm block could be used as an office or residence, or enhanced with additional development (STCA).
“An office approval was granted in 2001 but was never finalised.
"We have already had strong interest from a range of buyers including doctors and art businesses seeking a live and work option.”
Built in 1934, the Old Yeronga Fire Station next to Yeronga Park is one of the earliest designs from leading Queensland architecture company Conrad and Gargett, who also designed Old Government House and Customs House in Brisbane.
During the Second World War an effigy of Adolf Hitler was hung from the fire station’s awning, while the US and Dutch armies created a bivouac camp for more than a thousand soldiers in Yeronga Park behind the fire station.
The fire station provided firefighting services to the surrounding areas until 1974 when the building was passed on to the SES who used it as a base and training centre for 24 years.
The current owners, who are relocating to Redcliffe, bought it in 2001.
It comes with original finishes and fittings including an original fire pole man hole, but no pole, along with the working counter levered garage doors.
The fire station auction will be held onsite December 7.

Historic fire station at Yeronga for sale

A fire station built in 1934 in Brisbane's Yeronga has sold for $925,000 after being passed in at auction before Christmas.
The property, 785 Ipswich Road, Yeronga, was sold to construction company Stokes Wheeler.
Aron Burtenshaw Ray White Industrial Milton said the owners took a break over Christmas but we resumed negotiations with interested parties and by the end of January we had multiple offers.
“We secured a cash unconditional contract for the owners at $925,000, which was well above the highest bid on auction day,” he said.
"Stokes Wheeler plan to maintain the 280 sqm two-level building in its heritage form and occupy as their head office, relocating from their current premises at Loganholme."
It was designed by Queensland architecture company Conrad and Gargett, who also designed Old Government House and Customs House in Brisbane.
The current owners bought it in 2001.

Historic Yeronga fire station sold

Former Olympic swimmer Susie O'Neill has sold her Yeronga riverfront near Brisbane for $3 million.
The home sold under the hammer last night through Ray White New Farm agent Christine Rudolph.
About 300 people attended the auction last night and 200 groups had gone through inspections of the home which was bought by a close friend of O'Neill's. 
O'Neill paid $2.6 million for <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-qld-yeronga-125319390" target="_blank">the riverfront</a> with her husband Cliff Fairley in 2008.
The couple never got round to building their dream home despite having an architect draw up plans.

Five bedroom Yeronga house sold for $1.81 million

The South Sydney coach Wayne Bennett and his fiance Dale Cage have sold their Brisbane near riverside home.
It sold within 18 days of its listing through Ray White for $2.12 million to a local family who were downsizing.

The home built by local builders Grayhaus shortly before Bennett and Cage bought it.
The couple could now move to buy in Sydney as they have been renting in Sydney's coastal eastern suburbs.
He's never been that into Sydney property, preferring to keep his expansive portfolio up north.
Bennett still hangs on to a $1.96 million Brisbane city apartment and investments in Moffat Beach and Gladfield.
Bennett's Brisbane home sits just one street back from the Brisbane River.
Bennett met Cage during his two year stint as head coach at Newcastle Knights when Cage was working as a secretary at a performance physiotherapy clinic.
He coached the Broncos for 21 consecutive seasons from their first season in 1988, during which he resided much of the time at a home at Mount Ommaney.
His NSW coaching stints have been in the Illawarra and Newcastle districts, neither of which appeared to have ignited any passion for property.
Cage said the couple looked all over Brisbane when we were looking to buy "from Ascot and Hamilton and we both fell in love with this house together".
“It’s a warm, inviting and modern home and it’s made for entertaining,” Cage said.
“It’s a wonderful street we live in, there’s good company all around. It’s a great house too that is very low maintenance.
“As soon as we walked in we knew it was right for us, and it would suit a big family as it’s got a heated pool and four big bedrooms, two of which are ensuited.”
