Eight-time Olympic medallist turned breakfast radio host, Susie O’Neill and her ophthalmologist husband Cliff Fairley sold their Brisbane River house at weekend auction.

It has been their home at Yeronga for 19 years ago.

It sold under the hammer for $3,055,000, with only a $5,000 bid separating the two parties.

There were two registered bidders.

From 52 results of the 82 scheduled Brisbane auctions, CoreLogic calculated a 40 percent weekend success rate.

Nestled on an 875sqm block, the recently renovated Brisbane Corso home is a four bedroom north facing home.

It comprises open plan kitchen/living/dining, multiple lounge areas on both levels, four bedroom and an ensuite guest accommodation.

It last sold at $1.3 million in 2001.

It also features entertaining deck, landscaped gardens, large powered pontoon, and double garage with both front and rear access.

The home is set within walking distance to multiple parks and Eleanor Schonell Bridge linking to UQ.

The riverfront family residence was designed by Harry Poulos Architects.

Christine Rudolph of Ray White New Farm secured the sale.

“The successful buyers were local medical specialists who were the first buyers to see the house during inspections," she said.

Domain put the weekend's cheapest sale in Brisbane as $6250,000 for a four bedroom home at 111 Fiona St, Bellbird Park.
