The international award-winning filmmaker Alexandra Liveris has bought a Tamarama apartment.
It is the middle apartment in a boutique triplex designed by JPR Architects.
The three bedroom, three bathroom apartment was bought off the plan through 1st City Double Bay agents Julian Hasemer and Rod Fox.
Liveris is set to be sandwiched by renters as the apartment above was recently for rent at $3,000 a week, while the unit below was available at $3,600.
Alexandra's 2017 short film Eyes of Exodus won the Special Jury Award at the Thessaloniki Documentary Film Festival and the Audience Award at Aspen ShortsFest.
She most recently directed and was the cinematographer on seven documentaries for Google Labs that reached 18 million unique viewers. 
Alexandra, who studied documentary film and video at Stanford University, has previously worked with the NY-based Clinton Foundation and also on the now defunct Charlie Rose show. 
Alexandra's brother Nick has just moved back to Sydney, where he's spent $5.25 million in Rose Bay.
Their parents Andrew and wife Paula own an $8.5 million Point Piper duplex but have been based near his Dow chemical HQ in Michigan.
Andrew Liveris was a Donald Trump appointee and had previously worked on an advisory panel for Barack Obama.

Acclaimed filmmaker Alexandra Liveris buys in Tamarama

The Tamarama hole in the ground belonging to Marco Rossi, the Bellevue Hill based chairman of Built, and partner Stephanie Stokes, was pulled from its recent auction.
It had a guide of $11 million, down on the $15 million the couple sought when they first listed it back in 2016. They paid a then record $11 million in 2008 and demolished the former home which was listed by Sotheby's in conjunction with Bethwyn Richards at The Agency.
The 585 sqm sits on the dress circle Thomson Street overlooking the beach.
There are approved plans for an opulent glass-swathed five-bedroom palace by the internationally renowned architect Wallace E. Cunningham.
The plans, expected to cost $7 million to fulfil, include a number of indoor and outdoor living spaces, a home theatre, gym, and a lift to each level. All excavation works are complete.
Last year there were three sales which toppled the Tamarama record, the biggest the $13 million paid by DJ Annie Conley for the home of former fashion industry boss Robby Ingham and wife Sarah.

Graham Cordery, the owner of popular Surry Hills venue Soda Factory, has bought a Tamarama apartment.
The top floor apartment in a 1950s boutique block of four cost $3 million.
It spans nearly 240 square metres across two levels which includes a large rooftop entertaining terrace.
There's three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Soda Factory opened in 2013 and celebrated its fifth birthday this month.

Soda Factory owner buys Tamarama apartment

A Tamarama Marine Drive, Tamarama building block has now been listed for June 25 auction by Marco Rossi, chairman and founder of the construction company Built.
There were <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-nsw-tamarama-123910178" target="_blank">$15 million reported expectations</a> on its initial 2016 listing. 
Rossi has stuck with Sothebys, but brought in Bethwyn Richards at The Agency to get the sale across the line <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-nsw-tamarama-123910178" target="_blank">this time</a>.
They are advising there are $11 million hopes.
Rossi bought the property in 2007 for $11 million, setting a record for the suburb at the time.
He demolished the existing building and excavated at a cost of around $1 million.
Rossi has since moved to Bellevue Hill's Yoorami with his partner, Stephanie Stokes, as they wanted the family to be closer to schools.
Plans for the five bedroom Tamarama home include an eight-car garage and a lift from the street frontage.
The plans are estimated to cost another $7 million.
They were designed by internationally renowned architect Wallace E. Cunningham.

Tired Tamarama trophy home site listed for auction

Having been appointed CEO of both the Melbourne and Sydney operations, Clemenger BBDO top dog Nick Garrett has bought a duplex Tamarama penthouse.
The London-born Garrett, hailed as one of the world's most respected creative leaders, has paid $3.25 million for the apartment.
Spanning the top two levels of a 1950s block, the 200 square metre apartment has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a separate study.
The sale through The Agency's Bethwyn Richards and Monica Smit comes with a 40 square metre studio with separate entrance. 
Garrett was named CEO of Clemenger BBDO Melbourne in 2015 and then took on board the responsibility of the Sydney operation.
His Melbourne address is a $2.06 million home in South Yarra.

Kennards sell in Bronte as former Tamarama SLSC president lists in Bondi

The former Ramsay Health Care chief Chris Rex has sold his Bronte home for $6,275,000. It had a buyers guide of $5.75 million.

Last year they sold their Bondi Beach penthouse that they bought it from the accountant Anthony Bell $7.35 million. 
Set in The Bondi, the 395 sqm apartment with 150 sqm rooftop had been leased out at $3,750 a week.

Lynette Rex, wife of the soon to retire Ramsay Health Care chief Chris Rex, has emerged as the buyer of Pavilion House, the $11.2 million Tamarama home that set the suburb record last month.
It was the home of Bronte Surf Club president and sports and entertainment manager Basil Scaffidi and wife Catherine.
Walter Barda designed the three level residence on 390 square metres in 2012 after the land traded at $3,625,000 in 2005.
Phillips Pantzer Donnelley sold the five bedroom home in just five days.
The Rex's recently sold their Bondi Beach penthouse in The Bondi for $7,575,000 having bought it for $7.35 million just 18 months earlier.
They have since listed their <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-nsw-bronte-126626838" target="_blank">long-held Bronte home</a> on the pricey Yanko Avenue.
The couple paid $985,000 in 1998.

The Tamarama home of sports and entertainment manager, Basil Scaffidi and his wife Catherine has been snappily sold for a suburb record $11.2 million.
The Thompson Street home, known as Pavilion House, edged out the $11 million Built chairman Marco Rossi and his partner Stephanie Stokes paid in 2008.
Scaffidi, the Bronte Surf Club president, paid $3,625,000 in 2005 for the property overlooking the beach and commissioned Walter Barda to design the residence on 390 sqm in 2012.

Bronte Surf Club president sells Tamarama trophy home for suburb record

Bellevue Hill DJ Annie Conley is believed to be the buyer of the Tamarama home of pioneering fashion retailer Robbie Ingham and wife Sarah.
It's expected she's paid around $13 million for the Gaerloch Avenue property that sold for $14 million last year, only for the buyer to walk away from the deal.
Ray White Double Bay's Ashley Bierman handled the sale this time around with the listing held by Pauline Goodyer at Goodyer Real Estate.
A 25 metre pool spanned the five bedroom home which offered <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-nsw-bellevue+hill-126262906" target="_blank">point blank ocean views</a>.
The Ingham's moved round the corner last year when they completed the construction of their new home.
Ingham opened his first store on Oxford Street in 1983, importing designer clothes that were soon worn by the fashion set of Sydney. 
After 32 years Ingham decided to shut up shop in 2015, retiring given the trend towards online shopping had dented trade and his joy of face to face customer interaction.
Ingham also owns in Gerringong, a 40-hectare parcel where he's building a retreat with tennis court, pavilion, barn, stables and pool.
Conley is now seeking a buyer for her O'Sullivan Road home, a refurbished 1930s Prof Lesley Wilkinson home.
It goes to September 19 auction through Bierman in conjunction with Bradley Caldwell-Eyles at 1st City Double Bay.
"DJ Annie" is the daughter of the late aviation pioneer and property investor, John Conley.
Her house set in the Will Dangar gardens comes with $6 million to $6.5 million price guidance.
