Many homes nowadays have a cinema room, but fresh on the market is an award-winning Canberra home complete with a fully fledged theatre.

It has been the passion of Steven Gerakedis.

The art deco Reid home  with classic cottage facade reflects 1920s heritage, all the way down to the sub-ground cinema.

Bring the popcorn! The theatre has tiered leather recliner seating, a curved wide screen projector, dedicated projector room and a separate lounge area for pre and post-movie socializing.

The walls are filled with classic movie posters.

The home set in Dirrawan Gardens on 1,300 square metres was awarded the Master Builders Association House of the Year.

"You have to see it to believe it," the judges noted.

It has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a glass reception gallery and a climate-controlled cellar.

Peter Blackshaw Manuka agents Alec Brown and Andrew Chamberlain are marketing the home until March 28.
