Joshua Chan, the 45 year old founder of an online gambling review website, Joshua Chan, has been pinpointed as the mystery weekend auction buyer of the $20.1 million Bondi Beach apartment.

It was the penthouse offered by hardware company director James Mayo.

The penthouse ranks as the most expensive apartment ever sold under the hammer in Australia.

Chan's purchase was more than $3 million higher than the auction reserve.

Chan is the founder of online gambling review site LCB (Latest Casino Bonuses) which has more than 145,000 members who get advised on good and bad gambling websites. 

Chan founded it in 2006 with the aim to educate online gamblers.

His partner Melanie Attwell is its marketing manager.
