Dubai-based senior partner at McKinsey Middle East Michael Rennie has sold his Cottage Point holiday home bordering the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park for $2.85 million to Ross Nerodov.

The home overlooking Coal and Candle Creek was expected to fetch between $3.7 million to $4 million when first listed in November.

Rennie paid $1.9 million for the 700 sqm waterfront block in 2006 and called upon on architect Nici Long to design the four bedroom home.

LJ Hooker Double Bay agent Alain Waitsman sold the home in conjunction with LJ Hooker Newport agent Gordon Spring.

The Rhodes scholar was formerly McKinsey Australia managing partner before moving to Dubai in 2013.
