A lowkey establishment Darling family member have secured Linx, one of Cape Schanck's most prestigious properties, for a record $5.3 million record.

The coastal home's large outdoor terraces offer views across the bay back to the Melbourne skyline from the grounds of The National Golf Club.

The expansive home of 100 squares was designed by the architect West Valentine. The five bedroom property on the 4709 sqm holding is amid four world-class championship golf courses.

There's a commercial indoor barbecue area, a sound proof cinematic theatre with eight recliners along with a 1000 bottle wine cellar accessed through 17th century French doors.

The home was sold by Rob Curtain and Patrick Sinn at Sotheby's International Realty.
