Cheplakwet, the historic 1890s Moss Vale home with views across Throsby Park Estate to Mount Gibraltar, has sold.

Set atop a north facing knoll on 3.6 hectares, Cheplakwet was occupied by one family for 100 years before it sold for $595,000 in 1998.

It last traded for $1.2 million in 2013 and has been fully updated over the last couple of years. It was first listed last May.

The home has four bedrooms, a baronial living room, dining room with wood fire and a country kitchen that opens to a north facing verandah.

There are separate staff quarters that comprise a bedroom, bathroom, sitting room and second kitchen with original fireplace.

In the grounds are several grazing paddocks for cattle, horses or alpacas.

Margaret McCauley from Margaret McCauley Real Estate Bowral sold the property.
