A historic house in Adelaide has been listed for auction on 1 April.

Located at 55 Symonds Place, the 1860 Victorian home has been listed on the SA Heritage Register.

Featuring original high ornate ceilings with Victorian Coves and ceiling roses as well as a central hallway with Gothic arches.

A formal lounge consists of a fireplace and original painted ornate ceilings while a separate formal dining room has gas fire and a built-in whiskey cabinet.

The kitchen has quality cabinetry including a breakfast bar, William Morris designed glass splashbacks and heritage style 5 burner Falcon freestanding cooker.
