Glenhaven record setter Petalinda returns with high hopes

Castle Hill has a new record, while the Glenhaven record is hoped to be set by restaurateurs Frank and Rima Criniti.

Petalinda, the 1.9 hectare estate last sold for a record in 2011 when $5.3 million was secured by Jennifer Grant, wife of construction boss Steve Grant, director of Capital Corporation.

Now $2 million of up-grades later, some $8.5 million is being sought through Mechlenne Douaihy, of Merc Real Estate.

The current record was set only in August two doors away at $5.6 million when construction industry boss Mark Taylor and his wife, Eleni, sold to Angela Symons, wife of house and land package developer Todd Symons, of Eden Brae Homes.

The Taylor's 1.2 hectare estate was bought in 2011 for $3,665,000 from construction and property developer Graeme Webb and his wife Pamela.

It had been built in 1999 tp a pavilion design by Heather Buttrose.
