Castle Hill trophy home sets suburb record price at $3.4 million

A new home at Castle Hill in Sydney's Hills district has fetched a record $3.4 million prior to its forthcoming auction.

The six-bedroom mansion at 142B Castle Hill Road, with views to the Blue Mountains, sold through David Choy from McGrath Estate Agents Castle Hill.

It was being marketed with $3.2 million plus hopes.

Located in the in the exclusive First Farm Estate, it breaks a four-year price high in the suburb.

Previously, $3.1 million was paid for 19 Kathleen Avenue in 2010.

Recent sales have also included 62 Balintore Drive, which sold for $2.5 million in May this year, and 5 Lomond Place, which fetched $2.45 million last year. 

The 2,000 square metre property comes with mosaic tiled wet edged gas heated swimming pool with spa and lap area. Thee is a tennis court and gym and a six car-garage.

Set over three-levels, the home has 80 squares of internal space including a marble double-sided fireplace in the living room.

The bedroom accommodation on the top floor has a master suite that has its own fireplace, a balcony, walk-in wardrobe and dressing room.

The property was purchased by a large family.

The block cost $1.8 million late last year.
