The Darlinghurst apartment of the late interior designer Garth Barnett sold at its recent onsite auction.

Listed through Anthony Birdsall of Laing Real Estate with $3.5 million hopes, it fetched $3.85 million in a battle between Vaucluse and Mosman buyers.

The Altair apartment's 180-degree harbour aspect allowed for Vivid views of the Bridge from the 17th floor three bedroom apartment decorated in Barnett’s signature dark, moody colour palette.

The 190 sqm Kings Cross Road apartment auction attracted good mates including Eileen Bond.

His interior business continues since his death last October under _the existing creative direction of Thomas Waterman and the design team.
