International fashion designer Collette Dinnigan certainly has an affinity for fixer upper south coast property.

And after selling one of her charmingly restored Milton farm stays, she's bought straight back, though this time she's secured something right on the coast.

She's spent $950,000 on a bushland clifftop holding at Rosedale, south of Batemans Bay.

Its a two bedroom cottage in original condition marketed as a 'Rosedale treasure' by Elders agents John and Carly Haslem.

There's direct access to the nearby beach from the 555 square metre parcel, although the listing advised the "ancient path down to the beach needs to be rediscovered and groomed".

The existing decking overlooking the oceanfront has views to Jimmy's Island.

The population of the quiet coastal town is just a few hundred, but the town has been on the celebrity property radar before.

Actor Nicole Kidman was once part of the property scene, having spent $4 million on the nearby beachfront cabins in 2004.

The late Angus Hawley, Nicole's then brother-in-law, swooped into town by helicopter to bid on the rare beachfront offering offered by the Knowlman farming family from Goulburn, who had paid £35 in 1929.

The Kidman family envisaged a $2.5 million compound-type building on the three properties, but in the end they felt there was a lack of privacy preferring their Sutton Forest, Southern Highlands retreat, Bunya Hill.

Rosedale locals were always disappointed that Kidman was there only a handful of times before the holdings were sold off by 2013.

They'll be hoping to see more of Dinnigan, and her husband Bradley Cocks, who take a hands on approach to renovations.

The couple, who have a retreat at Avoca in the Southern Highlands, have been putting together an impressive property portfolio, across Sydney, New South Wales and even internationally.

The couple got their start with their two cottages at Milton, but now see glamorous international horizons.

They plan to launch a boutique holiday letting service.

Headlining the offerings is a 400 year old farmhouse in Puglia, Italy, which they have been restoring over the past year.
