Cronulla Sharks director Craig Airey and wife Janelle have expanded their already impressive property portfolio.

This time it is a $2.7 million three-bedroom penthouse in Cronulla's beachfront Casa de Mare complex.

It's quickly been leased at $1,400 a week, reflecting a 2.7 percent yield for the apartment that previously traded for $1.3 million in 2000.

The open plan living and dining spaces and the master bedroom open to the wrap around alfresco entertaining terrace with ocean views.

The further two bedrooms open to a rear balcony with views over Woolooware Bay to the city.

Late last year the Buraneer-based couple secured a three bedroom apartment off the plan in the Opera Residences at Circular Quay.

They paid $7.7 million for the west-facing apartment designed by Tzannes Architects in collaboration with Crone Partners.

Completion is not scheduled until 2020.
