Bridal designer Lisa Gowing's Wahroonga auction pushed back
It wouldn't happen in the wedding world, but bridal designer Lisa Gowing's Wahroonga auction offering was pushed back two weeks from yesterday's scheduled onsite event.
It was the lavishly designed Clissold Road property she shares with her husband, Ocean Group Consulting director David Bird.
Since the 936 sqm property was bought in 2010 for $1.15 million, Gowing transformed the five-bedroom home into a Hamptons-style residence.
It comes with a swimming pool. It's within Wahroonga 'Bush' School catchment.
It was listed with an initial $2.75 million guide through McGrath agent Alex Mintorn.
There's keen buyer interest, but none of the parties have yet secured their finances.
"The upper North shore market has come out of the school holidays with the market still a little sleepy," he said.
He reckons there will be a sale prior to the re-scheduled August 26 auction.
Towing's couture gown designs have dressed celebrities including actor Deborra-Lee Furness, former Olympian Libby Trickett and television newsreader Georgie Gardner.
Gowing, whose made-to-order and ready-to-wear gowns are known for their luxurious detailing and fabrics, opened her first showroom at Pymble in the late 1990s.
