Property developer Jason Varker-Miles has spent $5.3 million on a Mosman home with his wife, Trish.

It looks like a savvy purchase, after the five bedroom home had a guide of $5.75 million to $5.95 million.

Varker-Miles said patience paid off, allowing the Sydney market to cool having sold the former Mosman home he shared with wife, PR dynamo Trish.

"We have enjoyed being tenants for a couple of years, it has given us time to look around the market to consider different locations and what we really wanted in a family home," he told me.

"Being a renter over this period has also given the hot Sydney market time to cool to a point we were happy to buy again."

In 2016 they sold their Fox Johnston-designed home nearby for $10.1 million.

They had paid $4,068,000 for the property in 2014 and went about constructing the opulent home with plenty of copper and sandstone on Parriwi Road.

Their new purchase is set on nearly 1000 sqm of manicured gardens near Sirius Cove.

The kitchen and living space opens to an outdoor entertaining area with pool.

McGrath Mosman agent Jacqui Rowland-Smith sold the home after 44 days.
