Horse owner David Henderson and wife Rhonda have bought back into the Gold Coast market, downsizing to a $3.5 million Surfers Paradise apartment.

They recently sold their opulent Mermaid Beach mansion (above) for $16.5 million to Austworld group's Sam Raso and wife Rosa.

The Henderson's built the house in 2010 after paying $4.5 million for the absolute beachfront 1,210 sqm block surrounded by parkland.

Designed by Paul Uhlmann, the Hedges Avenue home had five bedrooms, five bathrooms, a library, gym, sauna, and a mancave with bar.

It came with a Magnesium-chlorinated pool and spa.

It was sold through David's brother Luke, an agent at John Henderson Professionals Mermaid Beach.

When they sold the apartment Hopkins Street family indicated they did not plan to go too far.

Their new Gold Coast bolthole (below) is a 340 sqm apartment spanning the 12th level of the Waterline building.
