The Northwood home of the the late Australian artist Lloyd Rees has been listed for sale.

The studio below his Northwood home remained untouched since his 1988 death until the Art Gallery of NSW recently removed the studio’s contents for posterity.

It is Rees’ son Alan Rees and his wife Jan who have decided to sell the family home.

Rees had bought the Cliff Road block in 1934 for £300, and designed the Italianate villa-style house as his family home.

Rees and his wife Marjory lived there until 1986 when they moved to Tasmania. Marjory died soon after and Lloyd died two years later.

The property is registered for its historic significance with Lane Cove Council.

There is a price guide of $2.2 million ahead of its December 2 auction.
