The recently departed worldwide chairman of ad agency M&C Saatchi Tom Dery has listed his luxury Paddington home with $5 million hopes through Richardson & Wrench agent Geoff Cox.

His ownership of the 1890s Paddington terrace bookends his role. He paid $3.8 million in 2009, the year he was appointed.

Combining historic with modern transformation, the main residence has three bedrooms and three bathrooms.

A heritage front section with library and fireplaces contrasts with the modern rear, featuring an indoor outdoor pavilion accompanying a 17 metre heated lap pool.

A fully self-contained one bedroom cottage sits on the 290 square metre parcel.

Richardson & Wrench agents Geoff Cox and Jason Boon are marketing the home.

Dery founded the global advertising company in 1995.

He is set to continue to work out of the Sydney office of M&C Saatchi Australia.
