Iwan Iwanoff Modernist Dalkeith home listed

A 1960s classic home designed by prolific Perth architect Iwan Iwanoff has been listed for sale.

The single level Dalkeith home on Minora Road was built in a Modernist design style by Iwanoff who plied his trade in Perth having studied architecture in Europe.

Set on a 1072 sqm corner parcel, the home has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a study and a private alfresco area that overlooks the swimming pool.

Anderson Davies Real Estate agent Mark Anderson is asking $1.95 million. 

The Bulgarian born architect moved to Perth in 1950 and settled in Fremantle where he took a job under Krantz and Sheldon. 

He set up his own business in 1963 and was responsible for designed around 30 houses and buildings across Perth.

Last month another one of Iwanoff's designed homes sold in Floreat. It was sold by the same family who commissioned Iwanoff to design the three bedroom home. 

He designed three houses in Floreat, one his own, while Paganin House burnt down in 2015.

One of the homes he built, The Frank House, has recently been listed for sale by Mary Street Bakery chain owners Carmen and Michael Forde.

They bought the home at 5 Patula Place seven years ago from the Frank family who built the home in 1969.

Known for his Brutalist style, the Iwanoff became renowned for his designed characteristic of working with concrete blocks.  

An exhibition of most of his works was presented at the State Archives of Western Australia in 1991.
