The Australian cricketer Ashton Agar has traded up handsomely in Perth.

The specialist ODI and T20 spin bowler has spent $2.25 million in the pricey waterfront suburb Dalkeith.

The three bedroom home, built in 1990, sits in 1,165 sqm grounds which feature a tennis court and resort-style swimming pool.

It had been for sale for a year and a half before Agar swooped.

Agar was trading up from the beachside Scarborough where he has owned a four bedroom townhouse since paying $660,000 in 2016, shortly after making his international T20 debut for Australia.

Agar, who plays for the Perth Scorchers in the BBL, has played four Tests for Australia, earning his baggy green in 2013.

"We chose architect Blane Brackenridge to design our home because we both love his work. He has huge talent for working with simple materials to create beautifully proportioned light filled spaces that are iconic and striking modernist forms. Blane and his wife are also great friends of ours," Ms Skinner said.

"With five children we required a large family home with separation and space for entertaining."
The Skinners have raised their family in Dalkeith for close to 20 years.
Ms Skinner said the western suburbs were such a great community with wonderful local schools.
"It is also close to the river. It's a great place for dog walks - we have two dogs- and close to both the city and the beach."
Built in 2012, this is the first time the Western Australian property has come onto the market.
The tender campaign closes September 3, unless sold prior.

Dalkeith trophy home listed for sale

Danny Pavlovich, an entrepreneur and former elite bodybuilder, and his wife Suzie are set to emerge as the buyer of the iconic Dalkeith mansion once owned by late entrepreneur Alan Bond.

Their $27.5 million offer was accepted by its vendor, Sue Wyatt, who bought the property with her then-husband Steve for $39 million in 2011.

Pavlochich came to national attention when he was in the final stages of selling Nutrition Systems, a distributor of sport supplements &amp; nutritional products, to OBJ for $85 million late last year when COVID-19 hit and the deal fell through. 

Established in 1991, Nutrition Systems was one of the first companies in Australia to import health, wellness and sports nutritional products from the United States of America.

Pavlovich, 51, has twice been a finalist in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year competition.

He also won the 2017 ICN World Natural Bodybuilding Championship.

Dalkeith home under offer

Reproductive biologist Bruce Bellinge has emerged as the $13.7 million buyer of the cattle king Mauro Balzarini's Dalkeith mansion.
Balzarini and wife Giovanna took $6 million less than what they wanted for the huge Palladian villa that cost them $12.25 million in 2006.
The Italian style home with traditional pale sandstone walls and terracotta roofs was originally owned by Alan Bond's lieutenant Peter Beckwith, who built it in 1990.
It has six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a basement wine cellar, fully mirrored gym, and a swimming pool with cabana on its vast 2,673 sqm parcel.
Offering sweeping panorama of the Swan River, the home had been on the market through William Porteous at William Porteous Properties International.
Bruce, a Scotland born biologist, has called Dalkeith home since 2009 when he paid $4.9 million for Raffles. He's listed it for sale following his new purchase.
One of Perth's true trophy homes, a 1980s Palladian villa at Dalkeith,  with pale sandstone walls and terracotta roofs, which <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-wa-dalkeith-122367750" target="_blank">selling agent William Porteous</a> described it as "the epitome of European elegance."

They bought the <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-wa-menora-125733254" target="_blank">home at 5 Patula Place</a> seven years ago from the Frank family who built the home in 1969.
Known for his Brutalist style, the Iwanoff became renowned for his designed characteristic of working with concrete blocks.
