The median Canberra house price has gone past $700,000 for the first time, following a 5.3% rise during the March quarter –  the sharpest increase in the country.

But Canberra unit prices fell by 0.6% to around $401,000, according to the Domain data.

Annual median house rents are up 7.5% and units by 8.2%.

A four bedroom house at 62 Narden Street, Crace (above) has been listed for $720,000 plus.

Similarly a four bedroom house at 27 Gluyas Street, Farrer (below) was recently sold for $700,000.

A three bedroom unit at 91/31 Thynne Street, Bruce (below) has been listed for $425,000 plus.

Similarly a two bedroom unit at 79/40 Philip Hodgins Street, Wright (below) has been listed for $395,000.
