Upon returning to Queensland Reds, former ACT Brumbies captain Stephen Moore has sold his Canberra family home.

Peter Blackshaw Real Estate agent Rowan Glanville sold the four bedroom home pre-auction to a local family.

Rowan said more than 40 groups had inspected the house since it hit the market three weeks ago.

Set on 1960 sqm, the Yarralumla home cost $1.65 million in 2014.

The property is almost double the size of the traditional quarter-acre block that characterises many of Canberra’s established suburbs.

“We’re very sad to leave Canberra,” Moore told Domain.

“The decision to move up to Queensland happened very quickly.

"Now that it’s happened we’re excited by the challenge, particularly for me with my career, [but] Canberra’s been such a big part of my life.

“It’s where both our kids were born, it’s the only place in Australia where Courtney, my wife, has lived, so for her it’s very much home in terms of Australia.”

Moore and Courtney have bought into Queensland, paying $1.5 million for a three bedroom home in Bardon.
