Whalan tops list of 2017 Sydney property hotspots

Whalan takes the equal top spot as Sydney's 2016/2017 hotspot for investing in houses with an expected increase of seven percent over the next 12 months.

The median price at Whalan is currently $480,000, according to APM, in their forecast developed by APM senior economist, Dr Andrew Wilson.

An example would be a four bedroom home currently on sale for between $485,000-$525,000 at 227 Luxford Rd Whalan (above), which is between $5,000 - $45,000 above the median price.

Similarly a four bedroom house was recently sold for $495,000 at 66 Torres Crescent (above), which is $15,000 above the median price.

The Smart Investor magazine, published by Fairfax Media, ranked Burwood as second best hotspot.
