Dentist Nasser El Hage and his cosmetic surgeon wife Dr Alia Nasser had their Paddington property passed in at yesterday’s onsite auction, but it sold soon after at an undisclosed price, reportedly $7.7 million.

The Caledonia Street holding (above and below) cost $4,779,000 in 2013, along with a further outlay for a one bedroom with car spot across the street.

The couple had just sold their futuristic Renaldo Gaiety-designed home in Sans Souci for a then suburb record of $3,025,000.

The Agency’s Ben Collier saw only the one bid of $7.625 million secured by the struggling auctioneer who sought shade from sun under the glorious olive tree in the private courtyard on the 450sqm property.

A nearby offering is being auctioned next week by Basil Mcilhagga, the Hong Kong-based CEO of gold miner Stibium, who has $5.5 million hopes through BradfieldCleary agents Bob Guth and Georgie Cleary.

Mcilhagga’s initial purchase was a 300sqm corner terrace costing $540,000 in 1992, then adding next door for $360,000 in 1999.
