One of the world’s skinniest residential towers is set to be built in Surfers Paradise with a $200 million, 44-storey proposal for a Wharf Road site.

It will feature just 37 units with a floorpan typically ranging from 346 sqm to 414 sq m.

There will also be a 450 sq m stand-alone beach house along with a residents’ wellness facility and spa.

The Brisbane-based developer Golden Gate Property say it will be 154m high and just 12m wide.

It is planned for a site immediately south of Wanda-Ridong’s three-tower Jewel project.

The developers say their high-end product will be more exclusive than what Jewel offers - and at a lower cost per square metre.

Jewel’s one-bedroom units are on the market for around $675,000 while two-bedroom apartments start from $1.4 million.

The development was design by award-winning architect Rothelowman and features an “exoskeleton facade.”

A development application was submitted to the Gold Coast City Council yesterday.

If approved, construction will begin this year.
