It was Queensland that failed to get a look in on the 10 most expensive sales of the week, despite taking out the top place last week.

The most expensive sales all came from Victoria or Sydney, according to RP Data.

  1. 126 Mont Albert Road, Canterbury, Vic

A five bedroom, four bathroom house in Melbourne's Canterbury sold for $6,660,000 last week through Hocking Stuart Glen Iris.

Set on a 2,051 square metre plot, the Tuscan-style mansion comes with an outdoor entertaining room with a television, barbecue and fireplace, a pool and tennis court. Inside, there is a formal sitting room, a games room, a separate dining room, a study and a kitchen topped with Calcutta marble.

The vendors purchased the home just three years ago, for $5,500,000.

  2. 48 Carabella Street, Kirribilli, NSW

This Kirribilli mansion sold for $4,500,000 through Century 21 Mosman. Another five bedroom, four bathroom house (though more than $2 million cheaper than Canterbury's offering), the home was sold by former Young Rich Lister Simon Clausen, now an expatriate in Sweden.

Though it was reportedly sold in late June, the sale was presumably only reported this week to RP Data. It had been listed since October 2013. Clausen and his wife, Alexandra, purchased the home for $3.98 million in 2008.
