The Sydney-based developer Image Property Developments has been given the green light to push&nbsp;ahead with stage one of their $85 million gateway development in the popular suburb of Dural, in Sydney&#39;s Hills District.

The Hills Shire Council granted a &#39;deferred development consent&rsquo; for the first stage of Skyline Dural, a gateway development at 488 Old Northern Road Dural, Round Corner.

Skyline Dural will see a number of apartments and townhouses developed in the second and third stages, a rarity for the suburb which is littered with sprawling mansions on acreages. The second and third stages are yet to be lodged to the local council.

The first stage will see a two-storey retail and commercial building developed, with views to the Blue Mountains, as well as a public plaza.

The building will include a supermarket and retail outlets including specialty stores and restaurants, giving buyers in the latter stages already established amenity on their doorstep.

The frontage to Old Northern Road will see large road improvement, with two lanes each way, a new bus layback, new traffic lights, and dedicated turn lanes.

Part of AUS&nbsp;Group, Image Property Developments&nbsp;are currently developing The Bond in Norwest, in partnership with Mulpha, which is set for completion in 2022.

Chris Paunescu, of CHRISP Consulting, who is project managing the design on behalf of Image Property Developments said the apartments and townhouses will offer quality lifestyle options that are much needed in the area.

&ldquo;The tri level designer townhomes (with optional elevators), spacious apartments with rooftop terraces and exclusive restaurants extending the public plaza are part of stages two and three,&quot;&nbsp;Paunescu said.

&ldquo;The investment in improving transport infrastructure at the southern entry to Dural village, particularly with the intersection, will improve traffic flow significantly.&rdquo;

Dural trophy home sells for $5.6 million

The biggest sale of last week came in Dural where Touraine, an eight bedroom palatial mansion, sold for $8.8 million.
It came with a revised price guide of $9 million to $9.9 million, having initially been listed nearly a year ago for between $11 million and $12 million.
The <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/sold/property-house-nsw-dural-124185582" target="_blank">grand home</a> (above and below) has 10 marble bathrooms, a self-contained guest accommodation, home office, dance studio, media library, billiard room with wet bar and a wine cellar.
There's a 20 metre swimming pool with spa, tennis court and expansive entertaining terraces on the two hectare estate.
The home was sold by McGrath Castle Hill agents Elise Lau and Joel McSeveny.

Historic 1850s Dural stone homestead listed for $1.89 million

Audry Hunt, co-founder of holiday letting giant Stayz, has listed her luxury Dural acreage.
The main residence has five bedrooms, home theatre, office and library.
There’s also a three bedroom abode, along with pool and tennis court set in its established gardens.
Lumby Hampson Dural agents Will Hampson and Kate Lumby are marketing the Uralla Road home which saw over 20 buyer enquiries within the first day of listing.
The median price for Dural houses over the past year has been $1,382,500 based on 82 home sales, according to CoreLogic.
Compared to five years ago, the median price is still up 58%, which equates to a near 10% compound annual growth rate.
Hunt, along with her late husband Rob, co-founded Stayz in 2002 with programmer Chris Sharkey.
The 2.4 hectare estate cost $3.2 million in 2006.
Stayz was sold in 2006 for $12.7 million.

The couple have bought Aveley, which was marketed as one of Sydney’s finest equestrian acreages through Christie’s International.
The six-bedroom Hamptons-style home on two hectares came with a $6.5 million asking price but was secured for $5.75 million.
It was bought from David Ansell, the chairman of the Jacobs Douwe Egberts coffee company.
