Planning for Werribee
The centre of Werribee, as it is now long-established, is starting to see a mixture of new higher-density developments clustering around its train station.
Upgrades to early learning centres and a new primary school was completed and ready for new enrolments at the start of 2020 in Werribee.
Many of the neighbouring suburbs are seeing several new schools and early learning centres built.
In November 2020, the State and Federal governments unveiled early planning work for the Geelong Fast Rail project, whose first phase would see extra track built between Werribee and Laverton.
This would mean some Geelong trains would revert back to their original route via Werribee and have a more direct route into Melbourne via Laverton and Newport.
It is expected that the first phase of construction will commence in 2023 and subsequent phases will include large-scale works that will be unveiled as part of the Western Rail Plan.
Several arterial roads in the area have recently been upgraded and as new suburbs develop, other expansion projects will proceed.
A new sports and entertainment precinct will be built between Wyndham Vale and Tarneit, giving Werribee community members even more choice in how they want to live their life.
