Athena Residences, which is recently completed and nearly sold out, is a unique product in that it provides an adaptive layout typically unseen in apartment floorplans, allocating additional space to allow for the choice of working from home, plus the resort style facilities and the abundance of open space and greenery which covers a massive 60 per cent of the site.

Developers are increasingly focusing on A-grade sites, ideally situated as close to the beach as possible. Even those bringing much-needed density to the Gold Coast are reserving a significant portion of apartments toward the top end of the building for larger units.

Why buying an off the plan apartment on the Gold Coast makes sense for downsizers

Gold Coast locals, alongside Sydney and Melbourne buyers, have jumped at the opportunity to be a part of an exclusive collection of apartments in one of Main Beach's newest developments.

It was only last month that <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/developers/drew-group">Drew Group</a> revealed the Signature Collection, just 12 sub penthouses and three luxury penthouses atop their two-tower development <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/new-apartments/lagoon-main-beach-11-23-cronin-avenue-main-beach">Lagoon Main Beach</a>, currently under construction by <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/builders/hutchinson-builders">Hutchinson Builders</a>.

"It will be hard to replicate the sheer size of these apartments. No expense has been spared to create these luxurious sub-penthouses and penthouses. At this price point, it’s an opportunity that may never be repeated in a new Main Beach development."

The Sunrise and Sunset towers, standing at 32 and 24 levels respectively, offer sweeping views of the ocean, Broadwater, and Gold Coast Hinterland. The two towers, which are already 85 per cent sold through Pezet Matheson, feature 143 apartments in Sunrise and 116 in Sunset.

Buyers snap up Drew Group's Signature Collection at Lagoon Main Beach

There's no slowing down in the prestige sector of the market on the Gold Coast.

FARO Broadbeach, the joint venture between&nbsp;<a href="https://www.urban.com.au/developers/bottega-property-group">Bottega Property Group</a> and <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/developers/5point-projects-pty-ltd">5Point</a>, has seen its penthouse sell for over $10 million, selling for $30,000 per sqm, a record for an off-beach apartment development.

The sale took the luxury development at 123 Old Burleigh Road to 50 per cent sold, with <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/news/qld/faro-broadbeach-secures-15-million-in-sales-following-christmas-launch">$15 million worth of apartments sold within the first week of marketing</a>.

Developer S&amp;S Projects has finished Awaken Residences, the second in a trilogy of apartment developments by S&amp;S on the southern Gold Coast.

The $52.5 million Awaken project comprises just&nbsp;eight full-floor residences and a double-storey penthouse. It was sold out prior to construction commencing as local and international buyers secured their place in the southeasternmost residential address in Queensland.

John Gambaro is putting the finishing touches to two new dining venues at Awaken that are set to complement the local dining scene.

Pipi’s, to be located across the second level of the 12-storey Awaken building, will take in ocean views across the Point Danger parklands, while the&nbsp;second venue, Awaken Café, is a casual health-conscious café, that is set to offer an all-day menu.

The double-storey penthouse at Awaken set a record for the southern Gold Coast when it sold for $9.4 million.

Each of the apartments features Gaggenau appliances, herringbone oak flooring and steam showers.
