Hyfield cropping property Kojonup sells for $25 million plus

Hyfield, a cropping property in Western Australia's Kojonup, has been sold for more than $25 million by the wheatbelt farming operations Giovi Ltd, formerly Wellard Agri Ltd.

Situated in the heart of the Great Southern with frontage to Albany Highway and Katanning-Kojonup main road, it consisted of three properties.

Hyfield, a– 2534 ha holding; Crossburn, a 2717 ha –holding plus Yaralla, a 2581 ha –holding were listed through Ray White Rural WA.

The properties are located within the ‘’Golden Triangle’’ which developed its reputation from its late 1830s settlement due to its location, reliable rainfall, soft summers, excellent mixed soils on gently undulating well-drained hills.

Of the 7831ha, 78 per cent is considered arable. 

The cropping program in recent years has comprised Calingiri, Mace and Spelt wheats, Bass barley, Bannister oats and canola varieties. 

The aggregation has reportedly had a sound fertiliser history since it was acquired by Wellard in 2008.
