Alueria, the Wahroonga home of architect Charles Bruce Dellit, acclaimed for his design of the Anzac Memorial in Hyde Park, has been listed for sale.

The 1920s home is an example of the Inter-War Mediterranean movement, one of the few remaining homes of its style on the upper North Shore.

Alueria, preserved with its Italian Renaissance-style intact, is up for sale for the first time in a quarter of a century. It last traded for $765,000 in 1993.

Set on a 1,855 sqm Fox Valley Road parcel, the double brick, five bedroom home with symmetrical facade is accessed through an entry comprising circular arches, tapered columns and a loggia.

The formal living room with four metre high ceilings and rated timber detailing features three sets of French doors topped by semi-circular fanlights and a fireplace.

There's a fireplace in the formal dining room. Sandstone terraces overlook the swimming pool and half-size tennis court.

Downstairs there's a separate bedroom that was originally a maid's room.

Chadwick Real Estate agent Penelope Prior has the listing with around $3 million being sought.

Dellit would host soirees in the home's ball room, which is now the lower-level family entertaining area and library.
