Boutique property developers, Megara has been given the green-light on their $73 million Sorrento Plaza development by the state's planning commission.

The eight-storey residential building, Ora Sorrento will deliver a collection of luxury beachfront apartments, designed by the award-winning MJA Studio, in what is pitched to reshape and reform the 5,777 sqm site at 128-134 West Coast Drive.

Taking inspiration from the Sorrento coastline, Ora will take on a cascading architectural form, with organic shapes, natural materials and enviable ocean views.

The Western Australia Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage consulted with the City of Joondalup to streamline the process, which will deliver 75 apartments across eight-storeys.

According to a statement from Megara, the existing planning framework was reviewed with the local community, which highlighted the need for it to be updated to better reflect local aspirations for the landmark site.

For those who treasure the coastal life, Ora is home, say Megara, with the project set to deliver a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, along with exclusive four-bedroom penthouses.

Luxurious Swiss V-Zug appliances will be fitted out into each of the homes, as well as a number of sustainable initiatives, while the highly-sought after location will also bring along with it uninterrupted ocean views, which residents can enjoy from their balcony.

Boasting an array of luxurious spaces and amenities, resident's will enjoy resort-style living with a heated ocean view pool, gym, residents’ dining room, cocktail lounge and wine cellar incorporated throughout the site.

“Ora represents a rare opportunity to enjoy an enviable coastal lifestyle so many aspire to,” Megara say.

The plans also propose two food and beverage tenancies, a public plaza, a bottleshop, 80 public car parking spaces and four motorbike spaces on the ground floor, along with the lobby for the residential apartments.

Situated between Geneff Park and Sorrento Beach, Ora residents will be within walking distance to an array of convenient amenity and recreational pursuits, including Hillary's Boat Harbour, which features a collection of restaurants, cafes and shopping opportunities, along with boating facilities.

Megara are only taking registrations of interest currently, with the project set to launch to the market in the new year.
