Over the last few years, as people are spending more time in their home and working remotely, resident amenity in apartment towers has gone up several notches.

Resident amenity can be the defining factor in a buyer's decision to secure an apartment in one development over another, and developers are becoming wise to that fact.

Cygnet West's Director of Residential Projects, Sales and Marketing, Greg Billings says buyers are very well educated on the latest trends.

“Buyers know what they want in both design and specification - with the specification having the ability to make or break a project,” Mr Billings said.

One development ticking all the boxes on buyers’ lists is Prosper Living’s South Perth apartment project, The Pearl.

The Pearl’s amenities have been designed as an extension of the apartments, with Prosper Living’s CEO, Maggie Cai saying they provide a place for residents to interact with one another, and to relax without the need to maintain the facilities themselves.

“To reflect the beautiful Swan River and leafy parklands of South Perth, The Pearl uses many natural elements within the amenity level. From considered landscaping to herb gardens and citrus trees, residents will enjoy a tranquil oasis,” Ms Cai said.

“Residents can enjoy the beautiful river views from the resident's lounge, while the facilities also provide a place for wellness and well-being in which residents can escape from the busy city lifestyle without the need to travel.”

“The Pearl's amenities are like a resort hub for residents,” Ms Cai added.

Mr Billings highlighted how important the location was in the final design of the project, saying location is key, with buyers seeking walkability to shopping and restaurants, along with easy access to the city.

“Whilst there are various projects approved in the South Perth area already, it is likely future development will compromise the views for some of those projects,” he said.

“The majority of the apartments in The Pearl will have ‘forever views’ and with South Perth so keenly sought after by many buyers due to its proximity to the CBD and amenity, The Pearl has positioned itself as one of the stand out projects in the area.”

A variety of buyer demographics have been flocking to The Pearl, with predominately owner-occupiers securing apartments in the building.

That’s where the focus on the curated amenities particularly come into play, says Mr Billings.

“The typical owner-occupier comes from a larger home and likely has many of these amenities in their existing property. Moving to The Pearl means they enjoy the use of the gardens and pool, plus the additional amenities, without having to manage or maintain them," Mr Billings concluded.

With sustainability also high on the buyer shopping list, a number of developers have looked to achieve environmental excellence in design and construction, with The Pearl meeting these standards with a 5 Star Green Star rating.

Spacious one-bedroom apartments with river views, start from $515,000 at The Pearl.

Coupled with a range of two, three and four-bedroom apartments, The Pearl has a home to suit everyone.
