A Victorian mansion in Brighton has been listed with $7 million hopes.

The 1880's home on an elevated 1,275 sqm was restored in 2000 by architect Bruce Trethowan who oversaw the restoration of the Melbourne's Regent Theatre.

Spread over five levels, the five bedroom, four bathroom family home also features a large wine cellar and a steam room.

There's an enclosed swimming pool and a copper conservatory roof.

Sherife Olmez and Trudy Biggin at Biggin & Scott have the listing.

It last traded for $1.1 million in 1995.
