One of the four Richmond cottages on the hit Nine renovation series The Block 2011 has become available for rent again and the investor will be getting less return on their $860,000 outlay.

Katrina and Amie's house at 41 Cameron Street was the cheapest rental – when listed at $950 a week through Hocking Stuart agent Stephen Chamberlin shortly after the big 2011 auction.

The asking rent for 41 Cameron Street was far higher than what their agent estimated for the possibly unfurnished rental option and at the initial 2011 asking rental, it reflected a 5.74% gross yield.

In July last year it was up for rent again at a $995 asking rent a week and its asking rental reflected around 4.7% rental growth over the year.

But it's now available for lease at $895 a week through James Delbridge at RT Edgar Boroondara.

The indicative gross rental yield for Richmond houses is 3.7%, according to RP Data. There has been a 5% drop in the median house price over the past year to $767,000.
