Sculpt Hawthorn wins Best Apartment Architectural Design Award
Sculpt in Hawthorn has been recognised with the Best Apartment Architectural Design Award (Victoria) at the Property Guru Asia Property Awards 2024.
Sculpt, just 18 apartments being developed by Monolith Projects, was designed in a collaboration between architecture firm Parallel Workshop, popular interior studio Mim Design, and renowned landscape architect Jack Merlo.
The building is defined by its neutral brick palette and bronze detailing, reflecting a sense of timelessness and connection to nature.
The sculptural form of the building complements the leafy character of Hawthorn, a feature emphasised by Miriam Fanning of Mim Design, who notes the neutral interior palette mirrors the natural beauty of the neighbourhood.
The development comprises offers two, three, and four-bedroom options, each focussed on indoor-outdoor living.
Floor-to-ceiling windows capture views while maximising natural light, further blending the interiors with the surrounding landscape.
Inside, the apartments are outfitted with a variety of high-end details, including bespoke integrated bars, custom display plinths, and electric fireplaces.
Kitchens feature natural marble island benches and Miele appliances, while master bedrooms offer hotel-inspired designs, complete with walk-in robes and bespoke dressers.
Outside, the landscaping by Jack Merlo incorporates over 2550 plants, reflecting the local environment while ensuring a low-maintenance lifestyle for residents.
Sustainability is also a key component of the design, with a 10 kW solar system planned for the rooftop, provisions for electric vehicle charging, and a 27-kL rainwater tank for stormwater collection.
