After obtaining approval from the City of Melbourne Council to convert the historic East Melbourne home, Eblana, into a $35 million luxury residential apartment development, PB & Co. has finally unveiled their ultra-high-end project comprising four full-floor residences.

The permit signifies the successful conclusion of a complex negotiation process. PB & Co. collaborated closely with the City of Melbourne Council to achieve an outcome that satisfies all stakeholders, including the local community.

The three full-floor apartments and two-level penthouse will feature three and four bedrooms, multiple living zones, winter gardens, and study retreats. They will also include a self-parking, fully automated car system, with the option to vertically combine floor plans for luxurious duplex-style living. These boutique residences are exclusively offered by invitation only.

Designed by Inhaus Design, the development pays homage to the Italianate-style terrace, the former Young & Jackson publican Thomas Jackson's residence. The restoration aims to return the structure to its original form and transform it into a luxury residential offering tailored to Melbourne’s elite.

The ground floor residence will be accommodated within the existing structure, where period features such as grand double-height spaces and original tiling will be revitalised. The new residences above will mirror the same sense of grandeur and space.

In response to the original scale of the structures below, the two modern architectural expressions above will adhere to the proportions of the heritage façade, accentuated by arched windows—a reoccurring, dominant form in the heritage home.

Each apartment is adorned with meticulously curated finishes that reflect a commitment to integrate modern comfort with heritage charm. Spacious interiors bathed in natural light provide a welcoming ambience, while state-of-the-art amenities ensure convenience and relaxation.

Residents will also have access to a rooftop oasis overlooking stunning city views, stay active in the fitness centre, and entertain guests in the beautifully designed communal spaces.

Construction of Eblana has already commenced and is expected to be completed in mid-2025.

PB & Co. now have over $350 million across Melbourne and Sydney’s prestigious wealth belts, having recently spent $60 million on a site in Sydney's Kurraba Point. That could see between eight and 12 luxury residences built on the 4,200 sqm block.

One of their latest Melbourne projects, Fifty Two Black, in Brighton, is kitted out in Restoration Hardware.
