Oz Property Group’s Kingloch Parade Wantirna hits presale hurdle, set to commence construction

Oz Property Group is offering a rare opportunity with its latest development Kingloch Parade, a collection of eco-friendly townhouses in the leafy suburb of Wantirna, east of the Melbourne city.

The community of 51 townhomes is already 30% sold, to a wide ranging mix of buyers given the 11 different configurations of the mid-century modern townhomes on offer.

Scott Williams, Oz Property Sales and Marketing Manager, describes the development as “future-proof, extra green, super social and a little bit once-in-a-lifetime”. 

He says it's been a diverse buyer demographic given the variety of product on offer.

"We've seen younger first home buyers enquiring on the two-bedroom townhouses, and young families looking at the three or four-bedroom offering," Williams said.

"Downsizers have also shown a keen interest, with some of the townhouse configurations allowing for multi-generational living for those with grown up kids."

Williams says Kingloch Parade offers a considerably higher product in terms of quality and the sustainability features than any other project in the area. Another driving factor has been the location, on an old school site near a large reserve with a park and footy oval, and tucked away in a quiet neighbourhood away from the noise of the freeway.

In the two years that Oz Property Group has had the site, they held extensive discussions with the local community about the project. Williams said the neighbours of the site actually came back with a number of strong design ideas.

"Although there is always a risk of Nimbyism, as soon as we started talking to the neighbours, they realised we were trying to build something that was right for Wantirna," Williams said.

Krisi Patras, Oz Property's Development Manager, says a lot of the design detail was fed by the neighbours, from the want for brick work over lightweight cladding, through to the desire to keep the established greenery.

Each design has been created with the owner-occupiers in mind, with community at the heart of the design.

Designed by DKO & SLAB, the homes feature solid, robust architecture with warm natural materials, pitched roof forms and light-filled internal courtyards, offering a modern take on mid-century modernist Australiana.

“Buyers are really liking the product and the suburb of Wantirna," Williams added.

"They’re enjoying what they can get for the price point compared to what they can get closer to the city."

The homes encapsulate warm, earthy and functional interiors, with an abundance of natural light and surrounding lush and native landscaping designed by REALM Studios.

Construction is expected to commence in the middle of 2022, with Kingloch Parade recently winning an award in the 2022 Asia Paci​fic Property Awards in the sustainability category.
