Situated on the final piece of Melbourne’s original waterfront, Riverlee’s Seafarers forms Australia’s first 1 Hotel and Melbourne’s first international hotel-branded residences.

With the support of 1 Hotel staff, amenities and services, downsizing residents have countless options to make the most of the empty nest, upgrade and live a self-indulgent, eco-luxury life.

Recently moving from their family home of 10 years into their new three-bedroom apartment, these Seafarers residents have given us an insight into a day in their life.

Morning

At 8am, the couple awaken to the serene views of the sun glistening atop the Yarra River through their uniquely faceted windows designed by Nonda Katsalidis.

“From the comfort of your spacious bedroom, you [can] watch as the city comes to life, appreciating the beautiful landscape upon your doorstep”, Riverlee write.

For those who have an appreciation for good coffee, the 1 Hotel room service means residents can kick-start the day by ordering breakfast and a freshly brewed delivered to their door.

At 9am, following a relaxing breakfast in bed, these Seafarers residents head to the spa-inspired 1 Hotel gym to experience a morning yoga session with fellow residents.

After a guided practice, feel free to head to the sauna for a brief detox before showering and heading out for the day.

Midday

After enjoying a long stroll through the streets of Melbourne’s CBD, re-discovering the art precincts and beloved National Gallery of Victoria, our residents head back to Seafarers and indulge in a 12.30pm lunch at the on-site 1 Hotel restaurant.

At 2pm, following an early afternoon swim at the indoor pool, a luxury facial treatment at the spa is on the cards.

Relaxed, they are now ready for a visit from their children and grandchildren for dinner.

To make things easy, housekeeping staff have delivered fresh flowers, as the concierge team ensures a re-stocked pantry with all the grandkids’ favourite goodies.

At 5pm, our residents greet their family and their new puppy, meeting them outside the 1 Hotel crane bar for a pre-dinner drink, while the grandkids play with their puppy at Seafarers Rest and enjoy the river views.

Following drinks, the puppy is cared for by 1 Hotel staff while the family heads inside for dinner.

Evening

For dinner, you can reserve one of Seafarer’s resident-only private dining rooms available on level 17 overlooking the Yarra with space for both the kids to run around and adults to relax, with staff on-hand to assist in cooking and cleaning up.

After a delicious family dinner, the family adjourn to the adjacent resident-only library lounge where they enjoy each other’s company.

With Melbourne constantly abuzz, a journey out to the residents-only terrace with a drink in hand will not go amiss.

At 9.30pm, following an evening of entertaining, our residents walk their children and grandchildren to the porte cochère where the valet brings around their car.

Before heading back to their apartment, professionally cleaned by 1 Hotels staff during dinner, our residents stop by the riverfront hotel bar for a nightcap.
