Geelong house and unit sales activity in decline: CoreLogic

The Geelong region saw 5,595 dwellings sold across the 12 months to February 2019, according to the latest CoreLogic Regional Report. 

Sales across both houses (-14%) and units (-38%) have fallen over the year, although units only accounted for 12% of transactions over that period.

The report notes Geelong home values increased year-on-year, with house values rising by 0.4% and unit values up 5.4% over the same period.

Homes across the region are selling faster. The average time on market for houses fell by three days over the year to February, while units are selling 19 days faster over the same period.

Vendor discounting levels remain unchanged for units, while increasing slightly for houses.
