$2.275 million Williamstown townhouse tops Melbourne's weekend sales
Melbourne saw a 57 percent success rate at weekend auctions with a $640,000 median from its 107 sales.
Its top sale was 2/113 Esplanade, Williamstown for $2,275,000 which sold pre-auction.
The three level townhouse constructed in the mid-1990s has views of Port Phillip Bay.
The four bedroom, town bathroom townhouse sees the second floor designed as the heart of the home with an open plan living, dining and kitchen area.
The master bedroom is on the third level.
It was sold by RT Edgar whose price guide had been $2,050,000 to $2,200,000.
It last sold in 2015 at $1,470,000 and before that in 2008 at $1,575,000, according to CoreLogic.
The vendor in 2015 was author Andy Griffiths who penned the popular children’s books, The Day My Bum Went Psycho Griffiths.
The five townhouse project was undertaken by John Fares at 113 Esplanade.
Weekend apartment vendors secured a 69 percent success rate across 316 auctions across the capital cities.
According to CoreLogic there was an $812,000 median price.
There were 385 listings, with some 69 results yet to be advised.
Sydney was the strongest market with a 79 percent preliminary success rate, with a $993,000 median price.
Brisbane had a 64 percent success rate from 20 auction offerings.
