Australian tennis legend Wally Masur and wife Susan have bought in Manly, spending $5.5 million on a former guesthouse.

Built in 1895, the iconic three bedroom beachfront has been recently refurbished to showcase its period features.

It has 280 sqm of luxury, open-plan living which flows out to a Travertine entertaining terrace.

It previously traded for $4 million in 2013. Last year they sold their grand Balgowlah trophy home, Lendalyn, a 1927 Tudor manor estate for $4 million.

The Wanganella Street landmark estate is a double block 1244 square metre holding with manicured English country style gardens.

Masur is a tennis coach and television commentator, having achieved a career-high singles ranking of World No. 15 in October 1993.

He retired from the professional tour in 1995, having won three singles titles and 16 doubles titles.
