Jacob RobinsonJanuary 22, 2014

A chateau-style Hobart residence was the most expensive sale of the week at $1.7 million, according to RP Data.

Situated in the affluent suburb of Sandy Bay, the imposing six-bedroom European-inspired abode Greystanes includes open fire places in every bedroom, six bathrooms, a butler’s pantry and an eat-in kitchen.

Located at 3 Melrose Court the spacious C1910 house features gorgeous timber panneling and French doors.

The 2,500 square metre block features a sprawling English garden, private courtyard and pool.

The sale was handled by Phil King of Harcourts Northern Suburbs Glenorchy.

Last week Property Observer reported  on a fellow Sandy Bay offering called the most significant waterfront property for sale in the Hobart market for a decade.
