Sydney prices start 2017 softer after stellar 15.5 percent increase in 2016: CoreLogic

Sydney has had a slight softening in the growth in home values, according to CoreLogic's opening 2017 data report.

The property data firm says that Sydney saw an increase of 15.1 percent in home values over the last 12 months. It came in at 15.5 percent during 2016.

Melbourne ranked second in increases over the last 12 months while Perth suffered a decline of 4 percent plus in home values.

However Sydney saw a mild 0.2 percent softening during the first week of 2017.
