Surfboard legend Barry Bennett buys $10.3 million Manly penthouse

Legendary surfboard maker Barry Bennett and his wife Margaret have bought a $10.3 million Manly penthouse.

It is in the recently completed Shoreline complex.

John Shanahan, former chief of market research firm Colmar Brunton and now chairman of the Advantage group, and his wife Michele have paid $8.5 million for the sub-penthouse

The Bennetts sold their Firelight apartment overlooking Fairlight Beach for $6.4 million.

The Bennetts had previously owned in the Waillea block on Fairy Bower which was sold in 2015 for $4.7 million.

The Manly record remains the Waillea building's $12.2 million sale in 2008 to former Greenville Caliburn chairman Peter Hunt and his wife, Ellie.
